FDO

ThermoTrade s.r.l.’s drift eliminators are manufactured by extrusion using high-quality propylene mixed with the perfect amount of choice talcum. They are ideal for vertical mounting in horizontal airflow systems with air speed of 1-6 m/s, assembled with a standard pitch of 25/33 mm.

Eliminators can be made in PP or PVC and can be set in stainless steel, galvanized steel sheet or aluminum frames with catch pan, making the structure remarkably solid.

Fields of application and features

Air handling

These drift eliminators were specifically designed for horizontal airflows with frontal speed between 3 and 6 m/s, a water-to-air ratio of 1 l/m3, and standard pitch of 25 mm. Pitch can be decreased to 20 mm in more challenging conditions, with frontal speed between 6 and 8 m/s and water-to-air ratio as high as 1.5 l/m3. These droplet eliminators are regularly used for air handling in the textile industry, in air washers, and in air handling plants downstream of humidifying sections’ panels.

Scrubbing tower:

These droplet eliminators can also be used in horizontal airflow systems, and can be provided with frames. They are used downstream of sprayers for pollutant abatement.

Gas turbine

Offering a wide range of profiles and the chance to vary the distance between flaps/pitch, these droplet eliminators can cover various air speeds and capture water droplets of different diameters. They are usually installed downstream of adiabatic cooling systems and in external air intake systems.

Marine sector

These droplet eliminators are used in intake ducts guaranteeing air purification on boats. Polypropylene droplet eliminators can be white or black, are assemblaed with ad hoc frames (aluminum, Aisi 304, or Aisi 316L), have a minimal pressure drop, and offer the following benefits: they eliminate both freshwater and seawater from the engine room; they minimize maintenance costs; and they limit air circulation. They are used in the following types of boats: yachts, fishing boats, ferries, cargo ships, passenger ships, warships, and tug boats.
